Brian Berger

Brian Berger has been an attorney for twenty five years. He is a native of Detroit, Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. in 1979. He attended the University of Detroit School of Law and obtained his Juris Doctor in 1982. He began his legal career as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Berrien County and then worked for a personal injury law firm in St. Joseph for several years after leaving the Prosecutor's Office.

For the past 13 years, Brian has been in private practice in St. Joseph, Michigan. Family law, including divorce and custody trials has been his primary area of practice. Brian handles all aspects of Family Law cases, and is a trained Mediator in Family Law matters. Brian also serves as a Court Appointed Mediator in both Berrien and Van Buren Counties.

Because of Brian's experience as a former Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, he defends clients charged with all types of crimes in Berrien, Cass and Van Buren Counties. Brian has extensive jury trial experience and receives referrals from other lawyers in both Criminal Defense cases and all types of Family Law cases.

Brian also handles Chapter 7 Consumer Bankruptcy cases in the Western District of Michigan.

Brian is a member of the Michigan State Bar Association, Berrien County Bar Association and a member of the State Bar Criminal Law Section and Family Law Section. He is admitted to practice in both the Eastern and Western Michigan Districts of the United States Federal Courts, as well as the Michigan Court of Appeals. Brian is married and resides in St. Joseph with his wife, Diana.
